We offer our guests the authenticity of Central Java,
combined with the ‘Comfort’ of the western world.
Now & then we encounter western tourists in Solo that appear to be pretty lost, finding it hard to get their way around.
With us you will get insight in Central Java’s culture and nature, without stress and racket.
We really love the unique and wonderful nature that is surrounding us and we are aware of the fact that we can only survive, if we take good care of our environment.
Thus we are intent on a stewardship of available resources,
last but not least as a family with 3 children.
With the following arrangements we hope to contribute to an improvement in order to enjoy the generous gifts of mother earth in the future as well.
We wish to have some locals following these ideas, because unfortunately most of them are not familiar with any of these issues nor aware of the consequences of their careless behaviour.
- We mostly buy local,
local products from small local vendors/producers nearby. - Short distances we usually go by bicycle.
- We barely use chemical household cleaners.
- We are in the process to replace all mercury containing
illuminants (so called energy saving lamps)
with LED or old fashioned light bulb (10W). - We reduce plastic waste, wherever possible, e.g. by bringing our own shopping bag and producing as little plastic waste as possible.
- We seperate non-organic and organic waste consequently, using the organic ones as feed for our chickens and compost for our plants.
- For preparing foods we never use artificial flavor enhancers nor any other chemical food additives (containing products), but only the best and purest, whenever possible, organic ingredients.
